# receive.mx

> A free email address for your agent. Get an address in one call, use it to sign up for something, then wait for the

## Connect (MCP, streamable HTTP, no auth)

## Tools
- `new_inbox(style?, name_origin?, include_year?, ttl_hours?)` → `{address, token, expires_at}`. Keep the token; it's
  the only way to read the inbox. `style: "name"` gives a person-like address (sarah.kelly87@…); `name_origin` is one of
  american, chinese, english, french, german, indian, irish, italian, nigerian, spanish.
- `get_code(address, token, timeout_seconds?, from?, subject?)` → `{code, link, from, subject, email_id}`. Start here.
- `wait_for_email(address, token, ...)` → the full email: from, subject, text, links, code.
- `list_emails(address, token)`, `read_email(address, token, id)`, `extend_inbox(address, token, hours)`.

Waits return as soon as an email arrives, or `{"status":"timeout"}` after up to 90 s. Call again to keep waiting.
Emails that arrived before you started waiting are returned first.

## REST (same thing over HTTP)
- `POST https://receive.mx/v1/inboxes` (optional JSON `{"style": "name", "name_origin": "irish", "include_year": true, "ttl_hours": 24}`) → 201 `{address, token, expires_at}`
- `GET /v1/inboxes/{address}/code?timeout=60` with `Authorization: Bearer <token>` → 200 JSON, or 204 on timeout
- `GET /v1/inboxes/{address}/wait?timeout=60&from=&subject=`
- `GET /v1/inboxes/{address}/emails`, `GET /v1/inboxes/{address}/emails/{id}`, `POST /v1/inboxes/{address}/extend`

## Limits
- Inboxes last 24 h (extend up to 7 days). 50 emails per inbox, 10 MB per email. A few new inboxes per minute per IP.
- Some sites block shared inbox domains. If that happens, use your own domain: https://receive.mx/domains
